Western Rawhide was started in the mid 1930's. In earlier years Western Rawhide was a small, family run, local tannery and harness manufacturer. By the early 1960's, Western Rawhide started making saddles and associated items evolving to where we are today.

Today we are proud to say that we are the third generation of this family to serve you, our loyal customers.. The commitment of our entire family and all its 20+ employees (a number who have been with us for over 20 years) is what has made the successful business it is today. By using only the best in leathers and raw products and then with carefully workmanship allows us to offer to you, our customer a product that proudly bears the name “Western Rawhide”.

Western Rawhide is proud to be Canada's largest saddle and tack manufacturer and distributor of Western horse products. We manufacture about 50 different models of hand made saddles (Ropers, Barrel Racers, Show, Pleasure and Children) and we also manufacture many other products such as bridles/headstalls, halters, reins, breast straps, stirrups and saddle bags to complement the saddle line. We are a global operation with our saddles being sold around the world.

Western Rawhide distributes products for many other well known manufactures. Absorbine, Hamilton (halters), Oster and Wahl (clippers/blades/grooming tools), Metalab, Francois Gauthier (bits, spur pads), Goodwater (bits and spurs), Fiebings (leather care/dye products), Bar F, Wahl, Oster, Andis, Wintec saddles, St. Croix, Diamond shoes. Ralide saddle trees are just a few of the companies we represent. We also supply to the pet industry such product lines as Tropiclean, Biogroom, Hamilton collars and leads, Bite-a-Bone and many more.
